Fasting Transformation Acquired by Eat Like an Italian

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Eat Like an Italian Acquires Fasting Transformation on August 31, 2022

Eat Like an Italian is proud to announce the acquisition of fastingtransformation.com, a wellness website in synergy with our philosophy of a healthy lifestyle based on the sound nutritional fundamentals of a Mediterranean diet. The acquisition was effective on August 31, 2022.

What Is “Fasting Transformation?”

Since 2019, fastingtransformation.com has been a website dedicated to promoting the annual Fasting Transformation Summit, a live in-person event which brought together world leaders in fasting protocols and current research in nutrition science.

“I was thrilled to find this resource with so much professional, credible information that is perfectly aligned with my own approach to a healthy lifestyle in the 21st century,” said Dr. Rick Zullo, founder of Eat Like an Italian.

The content from the old website will be forwarded to eatlikeanitalian.com, effective immediately.

How Can Fasting Transform Your Body?

Fasting is a practice that has been around for centuries. It is only recently, however, that the scientific community has begun to take an interest in its potential health benefits. Studies have shown that fasting can have a profound impact on the body, including decreased inflammation, improved brain function, and reduced risk of chronic disease.

While there are many different ways to fast, the most common is intermittent fasting, which involves cycles of fasting and eating. There are a variety of health benefits associated with intermittent fasting, including weight loss, and improved mental clarity.

However, it’s important to be strategic about when you fast. A common approach is fasting for 16 hours each day, and eating all of your meals within an 8-hour window. For example, if you eat breakfast at 8 am, you would stop eating at 4 pm. Then you would fast overnight until breakfast the next morning. This is known as the 16/8 method.

There are many other benefits to intermittent fasting beyond weight loss. These include improved insulin sensitivity and increased cellular repair through autophagy (the process by which cells cleanse, repair, and replace themselves).

The Fasting Mimicking Diet

Another way of fasting that has shown remarkable results is the Fasting Mimicking Diet, first described by Dr. Valter Longo at the University of Southern California. This protocol provides all the benefits of a strict water fast without the uncomfortable side effects, namely constant hunger.

The concept is fairly simple: the ProLon five-day fasting protocol provides just enough low-glycemic, plant-based food to stave off hunger, while still putting the body’s metabolism in a state of ketosis, which stimulates the autophagy process. The results have been well-documented and peer reviewed, and demonstrate that all the benefits of fasting can be obtained while still eating real food.

For those who aren’t ready to purchase ProLon, you can give it a try on your own with a DIY Fasting Mimicking Diet that mirrors the same plan with products you can buy on Amazon.

What Is “Eat Like an Italian?”

Eat Like an Italian is a digital media platform that promotes the health benefits of a Mediterranean diet as it is practiced in Italy. Founded in 2012 by Dr. Rick Zullo, an American expat living in Italy at the time, Eat Like an Italian has engaged readers with a lively dialogue on how to best mimic the Italian way of eating when living outside of Italy.

The concept of fasting is not unfamiliar to the Mediterranean Italian lifestyle. For centuries, fasting was part of life, both for religious reasons, and quite often throughout history, from the scarcity of food. Nowadays, this way of fasting transformation is evident when we observe when Italians eat, which turns out to be as important as “what” they eat. This is one of the reasons that Italians have the longest life expectancies in the world.

Moving forward, Eat Like an Italian will expand its presence with an upcoming re-release of the best-selling book, an online learning program, as well as physical products. And of course, the conversation about various aspects of the Mediterranean Diet and how fasting works will continue on the website and on various social media platforms.
